Terry Don West - Champion Bull Rider
![]() |
The rodeo tradition for Henryetta carries on with Terry Don West. Born in 1965, he climbed onto a dairy calf when he was four years old on his parent's dairy farm then entered his first rodeo when he was just seven years old. Since then he has set the bull riding standards for everyone else to follow. West was the 1985 and 1991 IPRA World Champion Bull Rider, took the PRCA Reserve World Champion title in 1995 then followed that up the next year with the PRCA World Champion trophy. He repeated that win again in 2003. |
| Many bull riders want to imitate his success. He had 15 consecutive rides in the PBR in 1998. He is determined to be a constant competitor on the rodeo circuit. There was only one year out of the 21 that he did not compete from 1984 through 2005. West sat out in 1997 to let his injuries heal. West lives with his wife Michelle and son Trey in Henryetta, where he conducts bull-riding schools every year at his home east of town.
